Academic Awards

  • Achievement Awards are given annually to Ascension students only and are based on excellence in the current academic year.
  • Achievement Awards are given to students with exemplary academic, extra-curricular and conduct records in the current academic year at Ascension.
  • These awards are decided in the spring by a committee consisting of the Head of School, the school counselor, and selected middle and high school faculty.

Named Awards:

The Bishop Matthiesen Awards

  • $500 awards to the most outstanding Middle School students (4 awards)
  • $500 awards to the most outstanding High School students (4 awards)
  • In honor of the donor, preference will be given to a student of the Roman Catholic faith to one middle school and one high school award recipient.

The Billie F. Norman Award

  • $250 award to the most improved student in Middle School

The Dee Gill Science Award

  • $250 award given to the outstanding High School Science student
  • All Achievement Awards are credited to tuition regardless of any financial aid grants a student may receive.
