Ascension Academy Expands to include Grade 5 in Fall of 2025

Ascension Academy is excited to announce the addition of 5th grade to its school model. Since its founding in 2000, the school has proudly served students in grades 6-12. Beginning in the 2025-2026 school year, Ascension Academy will enthusiastically welcome 5th-grade learners into its private, college-preparatory community. 

This decision is the result of thoughtful discussions by the dedicated board of regents and administration team. They believe that by allowing students to begin  Ascension a year earlier, students will be better prepared for the transition to middle school and high school in the Ascension college preparatory environment. Many Texas schools have successfully added 5th grade to middle school campuses, and the team at Ascension Academy is confident that this will foster a seamless transition for its 5th-grade students into its middle school and beyond. 

Ascension Academy’s Head of School, Mr. Tim Oditt, expresses his enthusiasm for this new addition: “We are confident that adding a 5th-grade class will both enhance our school community and offer families in the panhandle another option for their child’s education.”

Ascension Academy invites families to consider enrolling their children for the upcoming school year. The admissions process is already underway for grades 5-12, and parents are encouraged to reach out and begin the conversation if they are interested. The process includes admission testing, parent application, and a family tour of the campus. 

Ascension Academy is dedicated to making its successful college preparatory program accessible to all families. To support this mission, the school offers Customized Tuition options for families who are eager to invest in their children's education but require a personalized tuition level.
